Orion Playground, Springfield

Located in the Ipswich suburb of Springfield, Orion Park is a very impressive park. It uses scale to impress and entertain the kids, with some big slides and the biggest suspension bridge I’ve seen at a kids’ playground.

  • High suspension bridge,
  • Tall climbing tower,
  • In-ground trampolines,
  • Climbing nets,
  • Large slippery slides,
  • Toddlers/smaller kids cubby play house,
  • Swings and tyre swings,
  • Merry go around, and

Orion Lagoon is a free-swimming spot located just across the road, which is perfect for those hot days to cool your kids down after a play at Orion playground. Orion Playground is also located next to Orion Springfield Central which is a large shopping centre that has all the shops you would need.

Directions to Orion Playground, Springfield.

Kids Playground

The kids’ playground is only partially shaded (depending on where the sun is), so you will need to make sure you apply suncream have a hat for them to wear. I’m sure it would have been an impossible task to full shade the playground considering how big and tall the playground features are.

Some of the playground’s main features are:

Slippery Slide

It has 2 long and windy slides which to get to the kids have to climb a tall tower.

Suspension Bridge

It has one of the highest and longest suspension bridges that I have seen at a Brisbane kids’ playground, which will certainly test your kids’ nerves out.

Everything Else

On top of everything else, there is a climbing net, swings, merry-go-round, inground trampolines and a toddler play area with a cubby house.

All ages are catered for at this park, from toddlers just learning to walk all the way up to the bigger kids.

Facilities

Orion playground has all the features you would need from any park including:

  • Toilets (located in the shopping centre and at Orion Lagoon across the road)
  • Places to eat in the shopping centre
  • Orion lagoon which is located just across from the street.

Accessibility

Aside from the parking and the toilets, there isn’t any playground equipment here that is designed for people who have accessibility issues.
